Hope you are in the midst of a great day! My name is Jason and I am new to the COMtrac team. I will undoubtedly meet many of you through regular catch-ups in the future. This is the latest update from the COMtrac team of a release heading your way and some updated features.
We will be doing a release to your User Assessment and Testing (UAT) environment and production environment over the next three days. As always, we have been busy working on this new release to continually optimise and improve your COMtrac experience.
A significant component of this release was to incorporate feedback provided by you - our greatest resource is our client base. Your feedback, as always, is greatly appreciated and valued.

What's new?
Some exciting features are just around the corner. Imagine a simple press of a button and you can visualise your caseload, active/open cases or outcomes. Well, the new Power BI template file to display those statistics is not too far off from rollout so standby.
The following enhancements will be delivered to you:
- Agency Logo image features in Admin/Advanced/Company have been updated to allow you to update the Logo for your organisation.
- Adding an allegation in Incident Report/Allegations to a closed matter, now automatically returns the case to an "Open" state for further investigation.
- The Open Cases view in the dashboard (Home Icon) has been enhanced to open cases assigned across multiple divisions that only appear as single entries.
New Features
Activity Log
A recent functional update within the COMtrac case management system is the Activity Log function. The Activity Log is located within the Admin section and can be used as a detailed and accountable internal auditing tool. The Activity log is searchable and has a set of filters that can be applied. The audit log output can also be exported as a PDF file using the ‘Export’ button. Once the export is available for download it can be downloaded using the ‘Download’ button when it becomes active.

Running Sheet - Sub Type
The running sheet filter has been enhanced to include Sub-Type. This functionality allows for a user to search by specific investigation sub-types and narrow down searches of particular actions of the investigator.
Our Research & Development (R&D) Program
One of our unique selling propositions (USP) for our client base is that all our internal R&D iteration features are made available to our clients free as part of your SaaS Licence. Below is a reminder of the list of the exciting new features we worked on in Quarter Four, 2021 to be released to you soon in Quarter One, 2022!
- A personalised landing page when you log into the system rather than having to click on home icon in top left corner – your own workspace!
- Enhanced search capability to our Intelligent Search feature
- The ability to create customised investigator statements based on an agency’s jurisdiction
- Ability to create an Information Report instead of an Incident Report where the report is not required to be listed as an incident
- Notification Status page where you can see the status of a request for information or a issued task as being Issued, Opened, Responded or Closed.
- The investigators notebook (iNB) a native mobile application that allows investigators to capture notes, photos, video or interviews in the field and sync data back into COMtrac
- A PowerBI pbix file which allows you to export the statistics excel sheet from COMtrac and upload and display those statistics in PowerBI. The PowerBI pbix file will display statistics in purpose-built PowerBI charts which you can configure to add additional views as required
